Project #3 Experimental Clock
Try to move and press your mouse to the rectangular.
Reflection
My experimental clock was inspired by the artwork of Piet Mondrian. I want to make a clock that can be seen as artwork instead of showing the numbers and the dial plate. When the user moves their mouse to the black and the blue rectangular on the corner, they would see the local time of their location. Different from traditional works of art, people can also play with this clock. Click the cuboid representing the hour, minute, and second to switch the color. You can switch to your favorite color combination at will.
Design Process

The three sketches are all different. The first sketch is a gear for hours, every time when the hours change, the gear will move one unit clockwise. The second one is the artwork by Mondrian, the time is replaced by the different colorful rectangular, and the size of the rectangular would change. Meanwhile, the lines will change along with the rectangular. The third one is three circular rings instead of the hands, which will change the positions irregularly due to the different axis. The reason I chose the second one is that I think the artwork of Mondrian has a symbolic meaning and pays tribute to De Stijl.
Overall Reflection
From this assignment, I feel I gradually understand the basic logic of creative coding. I can reach a little bit from what I want to do to how I can realize by the coding system. I will think about how I can achieve the final results while I am drawing the sketches. The sketches for the initial ideas are very important because I would find the different solutions depends on my sketches and trying to add more detailed interactions inside the project.
